WEBThe Alaska Packing Co. of San Francisco built the first cannery on Cook Inlet at Kasilof on the right bank of the Kasilof River near the mouth. Machinery was salvaged from the Old Sitka cannery which had been erected by the Cutting Packing Co. in 1878. The Alaska Packing Co. cannery was sold to the Arctic Fishing Co. in 1885.
