There's not much to Icy Strait Point. There are a number of shops and places to eat and drink. There's a nice walk along the water's edge. There is also a trail further inland, if you want to walk… Full review by Marti324
Hi! Looking for the best excursion for Icy Straight Point. We have whale watching at Sitka and a Kayak tour somewhere else and the helicopter and dog sledding at Juneau. Suggestions?

Do not do the tram ride at top of the lift. Very disappointing.
There are walking trails but biking eh…trails are exclusively for hiking/walking plus too many tourists around and you’d be trying to navigate around them unless you went waay into town …

if my cruise ship docks at the wilderness dock at 9am is is possible to get to the activity center by free green gondola in 30 minutes? I am worried about so many people on the cruise ship trying to get to places and the wait will be long and we will miss our excursion.

We got rerouted to Icy Point from Skagway. Heading there in 3 weeks and I am wanting a little more info recommendations. We love nature and exploring. Should we walk between the port drop off and Hoonah? And is the Seashore walk easy to find? Did you eat lunch in Hoonah? Any recommendations? Any info greatly appreciated. Traveling with 3 teenagers. I am having a hard time spending the $125 for the zipline. Sounds fun, but I am assuming it goes fast and you only get one trip?

Really not much at Hoonah, we were there a couple of weeks ago. Zip line is very fast. There is a horizontal gondola ride, free, between the two landing sites. Takes about 4 minutes. Only a couple of shops in Hoonah, not much of a place. There is a smokehouse to eat at the landing area, don't remember anything in Hoonah itself Shoreline is OK to walk round and there is a trail through the woods, beware of bears. We saw a totem pole being made in Hoonah, 4 people 6 months work, very chatty chap there. Hoonah about 15 minutes walk form landing but there is a shuttle, $5 return
