Tennessee lawmakers unanimously passed a proposal July 31 to gift a no-rent lease to Elon Musk’s The Boring Company during a special State Building Commission meeting Thursday.

Elon Musk's tunnelling firm, The Boring Company, has unveiled plans to build a so-called Tesla tunnel loop under Nashville. The underground freight tunnel will use Tesla vehicles to transport people from the city's downtown to Nashville International Airport in around eight minutes.

Construction of the 10-mile Music City Loop is expected to begin immediately after approvals, with the project potentially operational as soon as fall
