For example, on Nov. 23, opening day of the 2024 Wisconsin gun deer hunting season, the legal shooting hours begin at 6:26 a.m. for a hunter near Sheboygan, 6:34 a.m. (two zones west of the reference zone) for a hunter near Montello and 6:42 a.m. (four zones west) for a hunter near La Crosse.

Because Newton and Jasper counties are now part of a CWD management zone, different rules apply this fall for deer hunters.
