When the gates open at 11am, the temperature will be around 14°C. By the time the first race begins, temperatures will rise to between 17°C and 18°C. The final race is scheduled for 5.15pm, and temperatures at that time will be around 19°C.
The Randox Grand National Festival has arrived in one of the biggest meetings in the racing calendar. The 34-runner field has now been confirmed for Saturday’s race, with I Am Maximus bidding to retain his crown off of top weight following last year’s success.
Tiger Roll became the first dual winner since Red Rum and between their respective wins in 1974 and 2019, some 24 horses failed to defend their crown, although seven hit the frame. The trend continues, with the last three winners also beaten in their defence (B4U).
