With plenty of fuel to feed the disturbance, Invest 93L has the potential to become a tropical depression by the end of this week.
We continue to follow the progress of Invest 93L, an area of low pressure that moved from the Atlantic across the northern Florida peninsula on Tuesday and is now scraping westward through the state’s panhandle along the northern Gulf Coast.
Further development of this low is entirely dependent on the center of circulation remaining over the open waters of the Gulf. If this happens, we’ll have a better chance of a Tropical Depression or Storm developing.
Multiple rounds of storms will bring up to 9 inches of rain to some areas. More than 8 inches of rain has fallen in Brevard County as of 11 a.m., and a flood watch has been issued for most of Central Florida. That’s why the First Warning Weather team is calling for Impact Weather for most of the day.
A system was detected off the Atlantic Coast of Florida and is expected to move into the northern Gulf Coast and develop into a tropical depression.
First and foremost there is NO way to know what if any impact the potential tropical system may have on SWLA at this time.
