Defenseman Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils recorded one goal in an eventual 2-1 loss against the Vancouver Canucks on a perfect snowy winter afternoon in Newark.

The Devils became part of the Quinn Hughes picture as soon as rumblings began that the star defenseman might not be long for Vancouver.

The return has also sparked plenty of debate as Vancouver acquired a 2026 first-round pick, Marco Rossi, Liam Öhgren and Zeev Buium for the former Norris Trophy-winning defenceman.
