The estranged husband of a woman convicted of killing three people​ with a meal laced with deadly mushrooms suspected his wife had been poisoning him before the fatal meal, an Australian court has heard.

An Australian woman who murdered three of her in-laws with a meal of toxic mushrooms also allegedly tried to murder her husband using poisoned pasta, a chicken curry and a sandwich wrap, evidence showed on Friday after a judge allowed its disclosure.

Police alleged Erin Patterson used a toxic penne pasta, a chicken korma curry and a vegetable wrap to poison husband Simon, before hosting the lunch where she served a beef Wellington containing death cap mushrooms. Patterson pleaded not guilty, and was set to also plead not guilty to other charges dating back to 2021 and 2022.
