Paul Craig has told fans not to “persecute” Rodolfo Bellato after the pair’s UFC fight on Saturday ended in a controversial no contest due to an illegal upkick from Craig.

Airdrie fighter Paul Craig was involved in a bizarre 'no contest' at UFC Atlanta last night after opponent Rodolfo Bellato was accused of faking a knockout from an illegal move in their light-heavyweight clash.

The kick connected and Bellato fell backwards and it appeared he was protesting to the referee about the illegal blow. Then a split second later, Bellato suddenly fell unconscious before he woke up again and tried grappling with the referee before the fight was stopped.

Paul Craig is not just looking for victory but an "exciting Paul Craig" win on his return to light heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
