Seven-time Utica-Rome Speedway champion Stewart Friesen underwent a successful multi-hour surgery following serious injuries suffered during a race on Monday night, his wife Jessica Friesen announced Friday night on social media.

Stewart Friesen is headed back to the United States. Following a horrific wreck on Monday that resulted in a broken pelvis and a fractured right leg, the NASCAR Truck Series veteran is returning stateside to undergo multiple surgeries.
