In recent weeks, Apple has been unable to escape headlines about its slow progress with everything having to do with Siri and artificial intelligence. The company has officially delayed features first promised last June intended to modernize Siri and give Apple a much-needed boost in the AI race.

Apple has a big vaporware problem, Apple Intelligence's smart Siri, but I still want that smart AI assistant on the iPhone.

After facing delays and suggestions that an improved Siri would arrive with iOS 18.5 later this spring, it appears we may not see Siri 2.0 until later this year, possibly not until 2026. The tech blog Daring Fireball received a statement from Apple today implying that we wouldn't see the next Siri until the release of iOS 19.
