Though control over the U.S. House of Representatives still hangs in the balance, Republicans were inching closer to victory Tuesday morning with more seats gained but more than a dozen races still uncalled.

Republicans are on the brink of maintaining their House majority—and winning control of Washington for at least the next two years under a unified government—with 20 races left to be called as of Sunday morning.
