The City of Portage is planting hundreds of trees this fall in an effort to reforest some areas hardest hit by the tornado in May of last year.

The 250 trees will be planted this fall in a pair of Portage parks that were hit hard by the May 2024 tornado.

A round of severe and life-threatening storms is expected to sweep through much of Kentucky between Wednesday night and Saturday, likely bringing severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flash-flooding.
