A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Malibu just past 1 p.m. PT. The earthquake sent tremors to Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

A 3.3-magnitude earthquake​ was reported in the Malibu area early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The authorities said there were no initial reports of damage from the quake, which struck in the hills west of Malibu.

Los Angeles has been rocked by an earthquake followed by a series of aftershocks that left buildings rattling. The US Geological Survey said the epicenter was Westlake Village and measured 4.1 magnitude,

The California earthquake was recorded at a depth of 7.2 miles today, with its epicentre around 6.8 miles southwest of Westlake Village
