Michael Chavis, who came up with the Red Sox in 2019 as the top prospect in the organization, didn't play at all in the majors in 2024.

Former Boston Red Sox Michael Chavis has signed a minor league deal with the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Chavis, a 29-year-old infielder, was once a highly regarded prospect in Boston’s system.

The 29-year-old infielder was selected by the Red Sox in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft and spent three years on the big league roster. Boston traded Chavis in the summer of 2021 to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for left-handed relief pitcher Austin Davis.

The Dodgers never seemed to be actively in the conversation for Bregman, who fans will probably always abhor for his membership on the Astros' 2017 roster, but he could be interesting option if he does opt out after 2025. That is, of course, also when Max Muncy could also hit the free agent market if the Dodgers decline their club option for 2026.

Hernández spent the last two seasons in LA — his second stint with the team — after the Red Sox traded him to the Dodgers in 2023. He helped Los Angeles win the World Series when he batted .278 with five hits (one triple) and three runs in the five-game series against the Yankees.
