NEW YORK — Federal regulators have opened yet another investigation into Tesla’s self-driving feature after dozens of incidents in which the cars ran red lights or drove on the wrong side of the road, sometimes crashing into other vehicles and causing injuries.
"[Tesla] doesn’t want to fix it, or even acknowledge the problem, even though they’ve done a test drive with me and seen the issue with their own eyes."
Federal auto safety regulators have opened a sweeping investigation into nearly 2.9 million Tesla vehicles fitted with the company’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, following dozens of reports that the software caused cars to run red lights, veer into oncoming traffic, and crash.
Last week, government documents obtained by news.com.au revealed that Australian officials are concerned Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology is already “too advanced” for Australia.
An investigation into Tesla FSD autonomous driving tech by the US National Highway Safety Administration is underway
Elon Musk could collect more than $50 billion by hitting a handful of the board’s easier goals that won’t necessarily revolutionize Tesla’s products or business, a Reuters review found.
