An area of low pressure in the central tropical Atlantic Ocean is expected to form as a tropical depression within the next day, becoming Tropical Storm Jerry not long after, forecasters said Tuesday morning.
The hurricane center on Thursday said an area of low pressure could develop along an old frontal boundary in the western Atlantic near Florida’s east coast in the next few days. That disturbance could then track to the northwest, which would take it across the Florida peninsula and into the Gulf.

An area of low pressure that formed between South Florida and the Central Bahamas is forecast to bring periods of heavy rain and coastal flooding to the Gulf Coast region over the weekend.
The second tropical disturbance is in the western Atlantic near the eastern Florida peninsula. It is also not expected to develop into a tropical storm but could bring heavy rain to parts of eastern Florida over the next few days as it drifts slowly to the west-northwest.
An area of low pressure, approximately 1,500 miles east of the Windward Islands, is becoming more organized, with satellite data indicating that it's strengthening.
Tropical Depression Twenty-six is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm on Monday and could strengthen further into a hurricane the next day, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
