Tropical Storm Jerry is expected to reach hurricane strength as early as Thursday as the system nears several Caribbean islands, according to the National Hurricane Center.

"Beyond the Caribbean, a dip in the jet stream along the east coast of the United States is expected to help guide this storm to the north and then curve it out to sea," DaSilva said.
