Yelp recently named the best local fast food restaurants in every state, and the North Carolina joint recognized isn’t Cook Out or Bojangles. It’s a stand-alone, family-owned restaurant in Lexington called Nick’s Old Fashion Hamburger House.

Yelp tapped two restaurants from its San Francisco hometown: Japanese Izakaya Rintaro (82 14th St.) and Burma Superstar (309 Clement St.), ranked No. 93 and No. 94, respectively. Burma Superstar has the distinction of the most reviews in the entire list with 7,800 — and a formidable 4.2 rating after all that.

It was created by Yelp’s data science team drawing on individual reviews users post on its platform as well as the overall restaurant activity in each business area. Thirty-seven of the 100 restaurants are in California,

Yelp's list of the Top 100 Places to Eat in 2025 has been released. Southern Yankee Crafthouse in Houston made the list for the second straight year. Casual Mexican restaurant Holbox from Los Angeles topped the list.
