Some popular acne creams are being recalled because the product may contain elevated levels of benzene, a chemical that causes cancer, the FDA said.
The Food and Drug Administration said several lots of six products containing benzoyl peroxide are being recalled.
The FDA tested 95 products containing benzoyl peroxide, an ingredient widely used to treat acne that can form benzene as a byproduct. It found that six products could have more benzene than usual.
