The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for fine particulate matter, in effect from midnight Saturday through midnight Sunday night.

Yesterday, the National Weather Service issued an air quality alert for Northeastern Pennsylvania as smoke from Canadian wildfires to the north reached our region. With the alert to remain in place until Tuesday morning,

The Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to funnel poor air quality our way from start to finish today. The smoke will be thickest this morning through the late afternoon. It’s during this time that we’ll see drops in visibility (especially on local waterways) and the worst air quality of the day.
