Bruins Charlie McAvoy, David Pastrnak, and Pavel Zacha were among the first players named to 2026 Winter Olympics rosters.

Kempe will represent Sweden and Fiala will skate for Switzerland in Milan. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty (Canada) will also likely be named an Olympian when final rosters for the 12 national teams

The Canadian men's hockey team will open the Olympic Games against Czech Republic and the women against Finland.

Winter Olympics in Italy less than a year away, the 12 national men's hockey teams participating are in the process of revealing the initial six players who will be on their respective rosters. Those teams will announce the remainder of their rosters at a later date closer to the Winter Games,

Dave Ryding, Britain's most successful alpine ski racer, is to retire at the end of the 2025-26 season. Known as 'the Rocket', in 2022 slalom specialist Ryding became the first British alpine skier to win World Cup gold.
