The slumping Giants have traded their longest-tenured player, veteran reliever Tyler Rogers, to the New York Mets a day before the Major League Baseball trade deadline.

The scheduled starters are David Peterson (7-4) for the New York Mets, and Robbie Ray (9-5) for the San Francisco Giants. The Mets lost 5-0 against the Padres Wednesday, with Clay Holmes getting credited with the loss.
