Patrick Mahomes faked out the Raiders by yelling at Chiefs coach Andy Reid, and a hot mic picked up the audio.

Patrick Mahomes is saying what everyone else is thinking. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback lined up on a fourth-and-1 to begin the second quarter, hoping to draw the Las Vegas Raiders offside. Mahomes tried the hard count, hoping some cadence trickery would get Vegas to jump.

That resulted in a taunting penalty on Rice, who was possibly trying to throw the ball to an official and didn't realize Martin was in the way. (After the game, Rice said that was the case) Chiefs coach Andy Reid may have wanted to know what happened because Rice made his case, although Reid didn't seem convinced.

Rice seemed to want to argue with the refs after the taunting call, but Mahomes swooped in and made sure to shield Rice from any further interaction with the officials, as seen in an in-game video shared by ESPN. Mahomes instead spoke to the ref himself for a little bit before accepting the call (and the 15-yard loss), and play resumed as usual.
