The Oklahoma State Department of Education has purchased more than 500 Bibles to place in Advanced Placement government classrooms, the agency announced Thursday. State Superintendent Ryan Walters and his spokesperson did not immediately respond to questions asking how much the agency spent.

Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced the purchase of 500 Bibles for AP Government Classrooms, the first purchase in the nation of Bibles for the purpose of using them explicitly as an academic and literary resource.

The Chicago White Sox on Thursday formally announced Ryan Fuller as director of hitting. He will oversee all aspects of hitting throughout the organization.

Ryan Fuller can draw from all his past coaching experiences with Baltimore as the new White Sox director of hitting, with his hiring officially announced on Thursday afternoon. Fuller, 34, served as co-hitting coach over the past three seasons for the power-packed Orioles.
