The Vegas Golden Knights had filled five of those holes with the pucks from victories in the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. There would be no more pucks placed on the wall after the Edmonton Oilers secured a 1-0 overtime victory in Game 5 that ended the best-of-7 series.

The Golden Knights went more than six periods, 127 minutes, without scoring goal to end their season in back-to-back shutout fashion. The only time they’ve gone longer without getting on the scoreboard in the postseason came in 2020 when they lost in the Western Conference Final to the Dallas Stars.
Early on, it looked like the Golden Knights were going to be run out of Rogers Place. The Oilers rode the energy off the home crowd to build a nice lead. Corey Perry, placed on a line with captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, opened the scoring several minutes into the first.
