A child was rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after at least two people shot into the bedroom of his family's east Houston home, according to the Houston Police Department. The shooting happened around 2 a.

When asked for comment, Houston Police Officers' Union President Doug Griffith texted Eyewitness News, "Cops love donuts!" HPD confirmed an investigation is underway.

At the scene, the victim’s sedan could be seen mangled and the front of the suspect’s truck was heavily damaged. Debris from the vehicle was found near the scene.
