Washington finishes the season 12-5 with its win over Dallas and will travel to Tampa for a wild-card matchup vs. the Buccaneers.

The Washington Commanders do a lot of things well, but they are at their best when Terry McLaurin is getting involved.

In the wild card playoff, the Commanders contained one of the NFL’s most potent offenses (2024 Bucs: 3 rd in passing yards, 6 th in NY/A; 4 th in rushing yards, 3 rd in Y/A), holding the Bucs to their 4 th lowest passing yardage (183 yds) and their 4 th lowest rushing total (101 net yards) of the season.

The Washington Commanders defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 Sunday night to win their first playoff game in 19 years. Coincidently, they beat the team they faced in that last playoff win in 2006.

A playoff game between Washington and Tampa Bay is nothing new. Washington’s most recent playoff appearance saw the Taylor Heinicke-led Washington Football Team host the wildcard Buccaneers at the end of the 2020 season in which Washington won the NFC East division title.
