With the NBA trade deadline coming up on Feb. 6, one big mess in Miami has dominated much of the discussion. That's not the only storyline that could shape the second half of the season, though, so let's take a look at what else is going on.

Butler was informed at shootaround that he would come off the bench behind Haywood Highsmith in this game, which prompted Butler to walk out of shootaround. From there, the Heat suspended Butler “indefinitely,” a story broken by Shams Charania of The Athletic and since confirmed by the team.

De'Aaron Fox and Jimmy Butler have been in trade talks, but it doesn't seem likley that they'll be traded for each other.

The Jimmy Butler saga in Miami appears to be reaching its conclusion, as NBA insider Brian Windhorst has confirmed that the six-time All-Star is expected to be traded before the February 6 trade deadline.
