The heart of downtown Buffalo is full of food-loving festival-goers as the 42nd annual "Taste of Buffalo," one of the nation's largest two-day food festivals, is open for business.

Over the first six months of 2025, shootings and homicides have dropped to some of the lowest levels seen in about a decade.

Despite the heat, thousands showed up to the opening day of the 41st edition of Taste of Buffalo on Saturday, supporting their favorite restaurants and adding new spots to the list.
