Before Minten played hero, Casey Mittelstadt gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the opening frame. Viktor Arvidsson carried the puck into the zone and looped behind the net before popping it up to Mittelstadt to knock it in from the crease at 3:53 of the first period. Mittelstadt and Arvidsson were on the second line with Pavel Zacha.

On Monday, the Boston Bruins announced their opening-night roster, including 14 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders. The lineup is split between those making their NHL or Bruins debut and some Bruins veterans.

We didn’t see much offense on opening night of the NHL season, with all three games featuring five goals or fewer. My Bruins vs. Capitals predictions rely on that trend continuing as the offenses take some time to get in sync.
