An Iowa State Cyclones coach took responsibility for the team's disappointing performance against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Sophomore LB Simeon Coleman made a huge tackle on Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht as he scrambled. Becht was down on the field before getting checked in the medical tent, returning later in the half. Coleman was disqualified for targeting, and the Cyclones missed a 35-yard field goal.
The Highlanders scored the lone goal of the game in the 45th minute. This is the third straight game that Binghamton has been shut out, and the fifth consecutive loss. The Bearcats are now 0-3 in America East play and will look to get their first conference win at home on Oct. 18 against the unbeaten Bryant Bulldogs.

Big 12 women’s basketball head coaches voted University of Cincinnati Bearcats freshman Dee Alexander the conference’s Preseason Freshman of the Year on Thursday, Oct. 9. The five-star guard is Cincinnati ’s first Big 12 individual preseason award honoree. She committed to Coach Katrina Merriweather and the Cincinnati Bearcats in April 2024.

Just like Kansas State is the best of the Big 12’s bad teams, the Cougars are the worst of the Big 12’s good teams. Their Willie Fritz-coached defense is stout, and the offense is more than capable of moving the ball via both the ground game and the short passing game. The Coogs are a team to fear, but shouldn’t make a run at the Big 12.
