A federal judge agreed on Monday to expedite Harvard University's lawsuit seeking to block U.S. President Donald Trump's administration from freezing $2.2 billion in federal grant funding that the Ivy League school has warned will threaten vital medical and scientific research.

President Alan Garber said Harvard made “necessary changes and essential progress” but promised further action.

The two reports, which run hundreds of pages, come at a difficult time for the university, which is suing the Trump administration over federal funding cuts.

The Trump administration is investigating allegations that the Harvard Law Review discriminates based on race "in lieu of merit-based" standards.
