Court rulings have prompted the Trump administration to release some SNAP benefits this month despite the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Gov. Walz announced state funding Monday to help Minnesotans who receive monthly Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
So far this year, the Food Shelf has served approximately 2,650 to 2,800 individuals in 1,350 households — 6.8% to 7.2% of the total population of Douglas County.
