After rapid intensification over the weekend, Tropical Storm Dexter formed off the coast of North Carolina with sustained winds of 45 mph. Dexter is now the fourth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Tropical Storm Dexter is moving further away from the East Coast, but it's still causing waves along the Delmarva coastline. Dexter is moving into the North Atlantic, away from North America. It will strengthen and become an extratropical low later today through Friday. The cyclone is forecast to weaken beginning Friday night and Saturday.
