The Los Angeles Rams released Cooper Kupp but found a good replacement in former New York Jets receiver Davante Adams. On Thursday, Adams had media availability and was asked to describe Rams head coach Sean McVay as a recruiter.

As it turns out, the recruitment of Davante Adams started before this decade with a run-in between the All-Pro receiver and Rams head coach Sean McVay at the 2019 Kentucky Derby. Adams, then a member of the Green Bay Packers spoke to McVay briefly as McVay used that moment in his pitch to Adams.

The Los Angeles Rams’ biggest splash in free agency to this point has been adding former All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams. Despite being 32 years of age, Adams is still one of the elite receivers in the NFL and should immediately improve the Rams’ offense.
