A fast-moving storm system is sweeping into the Bay Area and Central Coast, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and the possibility of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory is in effect from 8 a.

Rain pelted the Bay Area again Friday morning as the most intense part of the second wave in a storm pattern whipped its way onto shore accompanied by cold, gusty winds similar to those that blew during the first round.

Wind gusts of 20-30 mph are likely for the day, with the strongest gusts along the higher ridges, before increasing to 25-35 mph late evening and through Saturday night. Rain showers are likely late overnight into early Sunday, with a few downpours possible.
