Local leaders told Republic Services Friday they will be seeking compensation for extra costs they’ve taken on amid the ongoing strike of trash collection workers.

More Bay Area cities are threatening legal action against Republic Services to get money back to rate payers who have been without trash service.

The City of Renton reports it will host three temporary garbage collection events to address missed garbage collection for single-family customers of Republic Services. Events will be held at Renton Technical College, 3000 NE 4th St., at the following times: • Saturday, July 19, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
