There are calls for Scots to be given the day off when the men's team plays in the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

Scotland really did beat Denmark, with McLean sealing it from the halfway line, to reach their first men's World Cup since 1998.

The national teams competing for the last six spots at the 2026 World Cup will find out their play-off opponents today. Both draws are taking place at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich. The first will plot the paths of the six nations which have made it into the inter-confederation tournament; the second will do the same for the 16 European nations.
