Competition in the Eurovision Song Contest has kicked off with the first of two semifinals. Ten acts from among 15 countries that performed were voted through by voters to the final of the pan-continental music extravaganza.

Céline Dion surprised Eurovision 2025 fans with a special appearance to share a pre-recorded message during the annual song contest, which she previously won for Switzerland in 1988.

Some Eurovision fans attending the first semi-final of the competition in Basel, Switzerland, on Tuesday (May 13) wore coffee-cup inspired headgear. Others draped themselves in flags or donned costumes.
