Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has apologized for the political turbulence set off by a leaked recording of her negotiations with Cambodia’s former leader in the two nations' latest border dispute.

BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Thursday apologised after a phone conversation between her and former Cambodian Prime Minster Hun Sen was leaked. Paetongtarn said the call was made from her personal phone and she did not know the conversation would be recorded and made public.

Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Thursday that it will hand a letter of protest to Cambodia's government after a call between the two countries was allegedly leaked by a high-profile Cambodian official.
