Meta bet big on the metaverse a few years ago, but it hasn't paid off. Investors on Thursday cheered a report it could slash metaverse spending by 30%.
The new AI assistant being tested is designed to offer more personalized help with things like account recovery, managing your profile, or updating your settings. This particular feature will first be available to Facebook users, but the company expects to roll it out to other apps in the future.
Advertising data shows Meta is making its pitch in D.C. and media markets around nine state capitals — a sign that policymakers, not rural Americans, might be the target audience. Meta is also running ads in major metros like Dallas-Fort Worth and Jacksonville, Florida. (Meta didn’t respond to questions about its ad placement strategy.)
