Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard is in with the latest on the half-inch of snow that fell across Minnesota over night. Now, an arctic blast pours in behind that snow, dropping temps throughout the day Wednesday.

The first sub-zero low of the season averages Dec. 10 in Minneapolis - St. Paul, so this could be about a week earlier than normal — and the earliest below-zero temperature in Minneapolis-St. Paul since 2014, when the air dipped to minus-4 on Thanksgiving.
