Newly unsealed court documents are giving new insight into Vance Boelter, the suspect accused of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband. According to those documents, an FBI agent investigating the case said Boelter was a “prepper” who had given his wife a “bailout plan.

It’s not unheard of for state and federal prosecutors to both pursue criminal cases for the same offense, especially in high-profile matters.

Boelter has been charged with stalking and murdering a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband, and shooting another lawmaker and his wife.
