The NCAA could soon approve the placement of ads on football jerseys. One school already has a deal in place. Via David Rumsey of FrontOfficeSports.com, LSU has a multi-million-dollar sponsorship ready to go, if/when the green light is given to slap logos onto uniforms.

The NCAA does not allow teams to sell ad space on the uniforms they wear during games. That rule, however, could change as soon as January, when the NCAA is expected to vote on a new proposal to drop the restriction. Such a change would allow cash-strapped athletic departments to tap into a new revenue stream.

In September, Yahoo! Sports‘ Ross Dellenger reported the NCAA is considering making a rule change that would allow sponsors to pay schools to place their logos on team uniforms. On Thursday, Front Office Sports revealed LSU has already struck a deal in anticipation of the change.
