Jets Refused To Trade With Certain NFL Teams

The San Francisco 49ers needed help at edge rusher at the 2025 NFL trade deadline, but they decided not to make a move for a New York Jet.
The 49ers played possum Tuesday rather than buy into the New York Jets’ Tuesday fire sale or pony up for any other household names amid their injury woes.
New York dealt the two biggest stars on deadline day, moving cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round picks and wideout Adonai Mitchell. Later, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams headed to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 second-rounder, 2027 first-rounder and DT Mazi Smith.
Only three teams in the NFL have more wins than them. There is no clear-cut favorite for the Super Bowl this season.
You saw the mayhem. The Colts traded two first-round picks for a cornerback who’s been living off his rookie-year reputation for the past four seasons. The Cowboys coughed up a first and a second-rounder for a good player who is almost certainly going to stage a highly publicized mid-summer holdout for a new contract.
The Steelers checked in on available wide receivers, but ultimately stood pat. Mike DeFabo has more on the Steelers' quiet deadline day, and what it says about the 2026 draft QBs, their young WRs, and plans for their TEs.
When the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams meet this Sunday, offensive tackle Trent Williams will be suiting up for his 78th game with the red and gold. But according to an interview Williams gave the Athletic in a story published on the eve of the NFL trade deadline,
The 49ers’ lone move was sending a sixth-round pick to New England on Oct. 28 for end/tackle Keion White, who was a second-round pick in 2024 but not considered a fit with the defensive scheme brought in by coach Mike Vrabel. The 49ers also got back a seventh-round pick in the deal.
