Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava reportedly is negotiating a new multimillion-dollar NIL deal just ahead of the transfer portal opening on April 16.

Marcus Freeman has been at the helm for three seasons now, and in the past two, his program has been led by a veteran transfer quarterback. The Fighting Irish made it to the College Football Playoff National Championship with Riley Leonard at the helm, but came up short against Ohio State. They are now tasked with replacing the Duke transfer.

Iamaleava isn’t a superior prospect, more in name than anything. He threw 19 touchdowns this season, but 10 of those were against Vanderbilt, Chattanooga and UTEP. Outside of those three games, he had just two games the rest of the season with multiple touchdown passes.
