The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has detected the first signs of West Nile Virus in the county this year, just days after the Chatham-Kent Health Unit reported the first positive tests for the virus in that region.

The Monroe County Health Department said the sample was collected by the department as part of its Mosquito Surveillance Program.
