Founded in 1952, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is the national association representing social work education in the United States.

CSWE also keeps a record of formerly accredited or approved baccalaureate programs, formerly accredited master's programs, and accredited post-master's fellowship programs.

The educational policy was developed by COEP and approved by the CSWE Board of Directors on June 3, 2022. The accreditation standards were developed and approved by BOA on June 9, 2022.
