Some common causes of oral fibromas include: * Teeth grinding or clenching * Irritation from ill-fitting dentures or braces * Frequent trauma from biting the cheek or tongue * Smoking * Alcohol use Treatment: surgical excision. Recurrence is rare after surgical excision. Differential Diagnosis: includes other benign oral cavity tumors, such as papillomas, nevi, and hemangiomas.
